When used as cladding, Siberian larch is ideal for really exposed elevations or areas where there is likely to be physical damage, such as schools or shopping centres.
Our Siberian larch cladding is generally available in two grades, Unsorted (I – III) and Sawfalling (I – IV).
The highest commercially available appearance grade of Siberian Larch is known as Unsorted. Although the name would suggest that the material has not been sorted the timber has been sorted into the highest three appearance qualities - I,II and III or firsts, seconds and thirds (or simply described as I - III).
The difference between the Unsorted and Sawfalling grades is that the latter also includes IV (fourth) grade in the mix, therefore Sawfalling consists of a mix of grades I– IV.
Siberian Larch Cladding has a golden yellow colour with a strong grain pattern. The knots in the Siberian species are light grey in colour and are less likely to fall out after drying and machining. Siberian larch cladding is very resinous and extremely hard, making it one of the toughest and most durable softwoods in the world.
Our PalmerTex OSF surface texture improves the application of surface coatings by providing a uniform textured finish to the face of the cladding.
